A surveillance video capturing the final moments of US rapper Julio Foolio before he was fatally shot has surfaced online.
The footage, released by TMZ on Wednesday (July 3), shows a masked gunman approaching the rapper’s vehicle in a shared parking lot between a Hilton hotel and Holiday Inn in Tampa, Florida.
The assailant is seen firing shots at close range towards the individuals inside the car using a semi-automatic weapon in the early hours of June 23.
The young rapper tragically lost his life just hours after celebrating his 26th birthday last month.
His lawyer, Lewis Fusco, revealed in a statement to News 4 Jax that the artist, known for his song “God Don’t Know,” had thrown a birthday bash at an Airbnb in Tampa on June 22. The party was shut down due to the large number of attendees.
Before his untimely passing, he took to Instagram Stories to inform his followers that the police had intervened and forced everyone to leave the rental property.
Fusco mentioned that he then checked into a room at a nearby Holiday Inn, where the fatal incident occurred.
The shooting reportedly happened at around 4:40 a.m. on Sunday (June 23) in a parking lot at the intersection of Fowler Avenue and McKinley Drive, as confirmed by local law enforcement to Tampa NBC affiliate WFLA.
