Two Indians Die In Accident On Konongo-Kumasi Highway

A recent report from MyNewsGh states that a tragic accident occurred on the Konongo-Kumasi Highway, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including two Indians.

The incident took place on Monday, April 29, 2024.According to the local police, who provided confirmation to MyNewsGh.com, the accident occurred around 4:20 pm.

The driver responsible for the collision was identified as Obeng Michael, a 42-year-old suspect.

He was operating a Nissan pickup private car with the registration number GN 1645-21, carrying two passengers believed to be Indian nationals in their 30s. Unfortunately, all three individuals involved in the accident lost their lives.

The collision took place as Michael attempted to overtake the vehicles ahead of him while climbing a hill on the outskirts of New Koforidua along the Konongo-Kumasi highway.

In the process, his vehicle collided head-on with a Mitsubishi Fuso articulated truck, registered as GT 8794-W, which was being driven by Mohammad Nassam, a 54-year-old.

The truck was loaded with an unspecified number of poly tanks and was traveling in the opposite direction.This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of cautious driving and adhering to traffic regulations to ensure the safety of all road users.

MyNewsGh sadly adds that the suspect driver and the occupants died spot following the head-on collision. Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased persons were removed and deposited at Stewards Hospital morgue for preservation, identification, and autopsy.
