Two Arrested For Disturbances At NDC Youth Congress; Police Pursue 14 Others

Following the disturbances at the Youth and Women’s congress of the NDC in Cape Coast, the Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspects.

The Police, which had declared the suspects wanted, said the disturbances on December 10 in the Central Region, left three persons injured aside from the destruction caused to property.

The Police announced the arrest in a statement issued on Sunday, January 8, 2023.

It said the two suspects, Abdul Halid Shaibu alias Oluu and Ibrahim Razak, who were among the 16 suspects declared wanted for their involvement in the disturbances, were arrested through targeted intelligence operations at Tamale in the Northern Region on 7th January 2023.

The two suspects are currently being held in custody, and assisting the Police with the investigations.

The Service explained that, the faces of the suspects have been shown because they had been declared wanted with their images already public to help in their arrest.

The Police Service said it is working to arrest the remaining 14 suspects to face the law.
