Turkey-Syria Earthquake: Over 20,000 Confirmed Deaths As Aid Workers Struggle To Rescue Trapped Victims

As the death toll from Monday’s earthquake rises to over 20,000, we continue to pray for Syria and Turkey. At least 17,000 of those deaths were in Turkey, and 3,000 were in Syria. Aid workers are struggling to reach victims under the rubble, so those numbers are expected to rise.

As previously reported, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in both nations collapsed hundreds of buildings, killing thousands and separating families. Ghana’s Christian Atsu, who has been confirmed to be trapped, has not been found yet amidst his rescue hoax.

Aid workers are given a 72-hour window to find survivors.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has been criticized for failing to expedite the deployment of more rescue teams to locate loved ones who have been missing since Monday.

In a press conference, however, Erdogan made it clear that the search efforts will continue, assuring that everything is being done to find as many survivors as possible. “It is not possible to be prepared for such a disaster.” “We will not leave any of our citizens uncared for,” he continued.

People in the city of Hatay, where the earthquake seemed to have caused the most damage in Turkey, have been told to be careful in case more buildings fall down in the next few days. Some people have had to sleep on the street because they lost their homes in the earthquake.

We send positive energy and our sincere condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in the earthquake destruction.
