50 Cent’s hit song Many Men, which was released over two decades ago, has experienced a surge in popularity on digital streaming platforms following the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, PA.
The rapper himself acknowledged the phenomenon, as well as the jokes and memes circulating about the incident while observing a significant increase in streaming activity.
Additionally, 50 Cent displayed an altered image of his album cover, featuring Donald Trump’s face, during a performance in Boston and shared the meme on social media.
“Trump gets shot and now I’m trending,” wrote 50 Cent on Twitter, now X.
According to Billboard, following the unfortunate event that resulted in the deaths of two individuals, including the shooter, and injuries to two others unrelated to Trump, “Many Men” saw a significant increase in on-demand audio streams in the United States, totaling over 2.2 million from July 13-15.
This marked a 250% rise compared to the previous Saturday-to-Monday timeframe.
“Many men wish death upon me/ Blood in my eye, dog, and I can’t see/ I’m tryin’ to be what I’m destined to be/ And ni**as tryin’ to take my life away,” rhymes the New York rapper in the fan-favorite track, inspired by a real-life attempt to take 50 Cent’s life.
