Reports say that the New York City Police Department is looking for American rapper Travis Scott in connection with an attack that happened at Nebula nightclub in midtown Manhattan early on March 1.
Scott is accused of punching a sound engineer in the face and damaging $12,000 worth of equipment, including a video screen and a speaker.
Video footage obtained by TMZ shows Scott grabbing and throwing a fan’s phone moments before the alleged assault.
Mitchell Schuster, Scott’s attorney, has stated that the incident was a “misunderstanding” that was exaggerated by the media and that Scott has cooperated fully with authorities. He added that Scott is eager to establish his innocence. Headlines such as “Travis Scott Grabs and Tosses Fan’s Phone at Nightclub… Possible Lawsuit Brewing” have been circulating since news of the incident broke.
Is this an age of grabbing and tossing people’s phones? Scott’s allegation comes in the wake of Chris Brown also taking a fan’s phone and throwing it into the concert crowd, as reported by the Tru News Report. The incident was captured on camera and went viral, prompting widespread criticism of Brown’s conduct.
