The Nollywood community is engulfed in sorrow as actor Otunba Ayobami Olabiyi, widely recognized as Bobo B, has sadly passed away.
Bobo B’s untimely demise occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State, following a brief but intense battle with illness.
Sources indicate that the seasoned actor was scheduled to commence filming for a new project in Oyo last month.
However, he had to withdraw from the role as his health rapidly declined, ultimately necessitating his hospitalization at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.
Despite his dedication to the craft, Olabiyi’s condition took a severe turn for the worse, leading to his heartbreaking passing. His contributions to the industry and his unwavering passion for storytelling will be missed by many.

In the wake of his death, Yeye Bose Akinola, the governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) in Oyo State, released a statement to confirm the tragic news.
Akinola expressed her condolences and highlighted Olabiyi’s influential role within the association, where he served as the national general secretary.
She stated, “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our esteemed colleague, Chief Alhaji Musadshir Ayobami Olabiyi, fondly known as Bobo B. May God grant his family and all TAMPAN members the strength to bear this tremendous loss. Insha Allah, Amen.”
Bobo B was not just a talented actor; he was a prominent figure in TAMPAN, having previously served as the governor of the association in Oyo State.
His commitment to the growth of the Nigerian film industry and the promotion of theatre arts has left an indelible mark on his peers and fans.
