Tiger Woods has responded to his ex-girlfriend, Erica Herman, refuting her claim that he had an oral agreement to let her remain in his home and support her financially for years.
The ex-girlfriend filed a complaint against Woods, saying she was forced to leave the residence after he ended their relationship. Herman argues in the filings that Tiger’s private trust is attempting to compel her to keep their relationship secret by vigorously enforcing the NDA she signed. Woods has disputed the allegations and is now pursuing defamation damages from the lady.
Woods argues there was no such arrangement between him and his ex-girlfriend, according to court filings. He further claims that the woman has made false statements about him to others, causing him emotional pain and harm to his reputation. Woods is suing the woman for $30,000,000 in damages according to TMZ.
Woods’ lawyers said in the legal documents: “During their relationship, Mr. Woods invited Ms. Herman to live with him as his guest in the Residence. Mr. Woods never negotiated an oral tenancy agreement with Ms. Herman. Nor was there ever a written tenancy agreement between Mr. Woods or the Trust, on the one hand, and Ms. Herman, on the other hand. Mr. Woods never transferred to Ms. Herman any ownership interest in or rights of possession to the Residence.”
This is not the first time Woods has engaged in legal conflict with women. In 2009, it was found that he had many extramarital encounters, which resulted in a high-profile controversy. Since then, he has been the target of other lawsuits filed by women claiming to have had relationships with him.
Woods continues to be one of the most successful golfers of all time despite these problems. Over his career, he has won 82 PGA Tour events and 15 major titles. While his personal life may at times be turbulent, there is no questioning his golfing ability.
