American stand-up comedian and actress, Tiffany Haddish has made headlines when she discovered a grocery shop in Zimbabwe.

A video shared by Ofentse Nwase and spotted by GhanaStreetJournal captured Tiffany touring a grocery store in Harare, expressing disbelief that such a facility existed in Africa.

Her expressions and actions while inspecting the supermarket’s items highlighted the prevalent negative stereotypes held by Americans and other Westerners about Africa.

Tiffany’s repeated remarks of ‘grocery shop in Africa, wow’ underscored her astonishment at encountering such a store on the continent.

Although the video has not yet gone viral, criticism towards her has already begun to surface in the comments section of the post.

Ugochukwu: Wow I’m surprised too. Pls check if they have hospital, school and also cinema, as you people are mad 🤦🏿‍♂️

Nungua Burnaboy: The ignorance of some black Americans is astonishing.. they need to familiarize themselves with their roots when they are still young and not get surprised by basic things in Africa when they turn up here in their 60s

Jessica Tapia: The media portrays Africa a certain way and a lot of people don’t take the time to fact check or research. Most people will accept the information that is provided to them as fact. So, I’m not surprised that she thought this.

Homeland or Death: Come on stop pushing an agenda she’s just excited I don’t see if she’s insulting in any way. Come on!
