Ghanaian media personality MC Yaa Yeboah has spoken out in defence of renowned interviewer Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, following backlash over an interview involving politician Akua Donkor.
Delay’s distinct interview style, characterized by her direct and sometimes challenging questions, has garnered both acclaim and criticism over the years. Yaa Yeboah’s comments highlight a broader conversation on the boundaries of journalism, interview ethics, and the expectations placed on public figures.

Yaa Yeboah’s statement was a response to those who felt Delay’s approach in her recent interview with Akua Donkor was overly confrontational or even disrespectful.
She noted that Delay’s interviewees were well aware of her straightforward style before agreeing to appear on her show, and she criticized those who, after the fact, complained about their treatment on-air. “Delay doesn’t hold a gun to your head to answer her questions,” Yaa Yeboah emphasized.
“If she asks you a question you feel uncomfortable about, you are at liberty to refuse to answer. Those who go to Delay for interviews are aware of her style of questioning. I find it hypocritical when they come out to play the victim after the interview.”
Delay, who has become a household name in Ghanaian media, has a reputation for getting to the heart of her guests’ lives and careers with questions that are often blunt and probing.

Her approach has earned her a dedicated following, with fans who appreciate her no-nonsense style. However, she has also faced criticism from viewers and even some interviewees who feel her methods can be too intense or invasive.
