Medikal has shared his ongoing frustration regarding the seizure of his gun by the Ghana Police Service in 2021.
In an emotional interview on TV3, he recounted how his gun, which was taken after he was arrested for brandishing it on social media, still hasn’t been returned, despite a court ruling in his favour.
“It was too harsh,” Medikal explained. “I wasn’t displaying the firearm in public where people saw me. I wasn’t firing any weapon anywhere. On social media, we saw people shooting online, and nothing happened.”
For the rapper, the seizures of his firearm felt excessive. He argued that while there were others engaging in similar activities, he was singled out.

“And then the only thing I kept hearing was an order from above,” Medikal added, alluding to the political pressures that may have influenced the decision.
Despite the court’s ruling that the police return his firearm, Medikal’s efforts have been in vain. “They refused to give it to me.
“I still don’t have it. It’s been a few years now. It’s mad,” he said, expressing disbelief at the continued withholding of his property.
The rapper also hinted at possible political interference without naming names. “There are some names to it, but I just don’t want to name-drop anyone or anything.
“At the end of the day, they have the power. I’m just a citizen in the country, an obedient one, actually,” he shared, leaving fans to speculate about who might be behind the delay.
