They Didn’t Treat Him Well: Afia Schwarzenegger Speaks Out on Owusu-Bempah’s Snub of Bawumia

Media personality and actress Afia Schwarzenegger has opened up about the treatment of controversial prophet Owusu-Bempah by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the implications of that treatment on his political affiliations.

In an Instagram video shared, she expressed her concerns regarding how the party has handled Owusu-Bempah, especially in light of his recent interactions with key political figures.

Schwarzenegger did not hold back, stating, “The NPP was never fair to Owusu-Bempah; they didn’t treat him well. Many may be upset by my statement, but I am speaking the truth.”

Her comments come in the wake of Owusu-Bempah’s arrest, which she suggests was a pivotal moment in his relationship with the party. She described the fallout from this incident as deeply damaging, claiming, “That treatment broke him. He was embarrassed and humiliated.”

The media personality went on to highlight that when Owusu-Bempah sought support from prominent members of the NPP during his time of need, he was met with silence. “When he reached out to key members of the party, none of them answered his calls,” she said, underscoring the feeling of abandonment he experienced from the very people he once aligned himself with.

Schwarzenegger’s insights suggest a deep sense of betrayal and disappointment on Owusu-Bempah’s part, leading her to believe that this could influence his future political decisions. She stated, “You might not need him today, but you may need him in the future.”

In a bold statement, Schwarzenegger declared that if she were in Owusu-Bempah’s position, she would consider distancing herself from the NPP entirely, even contemplating joining Akua Donkor’s party as a form of protest against the treatment she perceives as unfair.

“If the NPP treats me like this, I’d distance myself from them,” she asserted, illustrating her point that loyalty should be reciprocal in the political arena.

The tension surrounding Owusu-Bempah’s relationship with the NPP has only intensified following recent political developments, particularly his snub of Vice President Bawumia in favour of former President John Dramani Mahama.

Schwarzenegger’s comments provide context to this decision, suggesting that the prophet’s dissatisfaction with his treatment by the NPP played a significant role in his current political alignment.
