Media personality Bridget Otoo has emphasized the importance of carefully reviewing the rules and guidelines set forth by the Guinness World Record for aspiring contenders.

The news anchor, who works with Metro TV, highlighted the need for Ghanaians to show gratitude towards Hilda Baci, especially after the mistreatment she faced during Faila Abdul Razak’s cooking marathon attempt.

Additionally, Otoo urged the public to acknowledge the achievements of the Nigerian influencer who held the record before Alan Fisher surpassed her.

She emphasized the significance of thoroughly understanding and respecting the rules and guidelines when participating in any “Thon” event, as there are no shortcuts.

I hope Ghanaians appreciate what Hilda Baci did and learn from her . The way some on this platform abused her for breaking that record thinking it’s easy. Also when signing up for any “Thon” read the “rules and Guidelines” well, respect it cos there’s no shortcut.

In a separate tweet, she highlighted a significant issue that plagues the Ghanaian society, which is the lack of a strong compliance environment.

Despite numerous attempts to break Guinness World Records, all resulting in disqualifications, she recognizes that Ghanaians tend to pride themselves on disregarding rules.

She stated:

In all these #GuinnessWorldRecord break attempts and what has come out of it, total disqualifications, I can recognize one big problem which permeates our entire society, management & governance, weak compliance environment. This is because we provide ourselves in breaking rules

Bridget made her comment following the disqualification of Chef Faila and Afua Asantewaa from the cooking and singing marathons, respectively.
