The Truth Will Speak – Naira Marley Breaks Silence After Being Cleared in Mohbad’s Death

For months, whispers turned into roars, accusations into convictions—at least in the court of public opinion.

The death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, shook the entertainment industry, igniting speculation, grief, and rage.

At the center of the storm stood Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, once the face of camaraderie and youthful rebellion, now branded a villain in the eyes of many.

The weight of silence can be deafening. The man who once thrived on controversy found himself battling for more than just his name—he was fighting for the truth. And now, in a moment of reflection following his legal exoneration, Naira Marley has finally spoken.

“I never thought silence could be so loud. I never thought someone I called my brother, someone I protected, would leave this world with my name on his shadow.”

His words cut through the noise, not as a plea, but as a lament. The grief, the accusations, the shame—he bore it all. Yet, even as he stood trial in the court of law and public opinion, he remained adamant: he was not the enemy.

“We, as Marlians, were not perfect. We had to grow, we had to adapt. Mistakes were made, but they were business—never war.”

For those who had followed the trajectory of his relationship with Mohbad, the cracks were visible. A brotherhood built on music, ambition, and a shared vision had, over time, been marred by conflict and disillusionment.

The late singer had distanced himself from the Marlian movement, and his death only intensified existing tensions. It became easy for the public to point fingers, and for Naira Marley, the betrayal cut deep.

“I made peace with Mohbad. We understood each other beyond the noise, beyond the misunderstandings. And you know this.

Yet when he took his last breath in your arms, you looked at the world and pointed at me. You let them tear me apart. You let them call me a killer while you sat there, knowing the truth. Now you tell the story?”

Without naming names, his accusations hang in the air, a direct call to those who, in his view, stood silent when they should have spoken. His pain is not just about being accused; it is about being left to fend for himself in a war he claims was never his to fight.

Mohbad’s funeral, or rather, the lack of it, adds another layer to the saga.

“My brother is gone, still not buried, and that is your fault. Telling the truth from the beginning would have given him the rest he deserves.”

The statement reads like a final reckoning—a declaration that time will reveal all. If the months following Mohbad’s passing have taught anything, it is that narratives shift, alliances crumble, and the truth often remains elusive. But Naira Marley, despite the storm, refuses to disappear.

“You never thought I would survive. You never thought I would walk through the fire and face my people, maybe you hoped I would stay a fugitive.

You thought I would run. Instead, I stood before the justice system, spent time in jail and faced everything head-on while you changed the story, again and again.”

For many, the wounds remain fresh. The anger has not subsided. But with the court ruling in his favor, Marley is determined to reclaim his voice, no longer drowned by the shouts of those who sought to condemn him.

“But God sees all. The truth does not shake. The lies will fade, and time will reveal everything. I have been broken, but I am not destroyed. And when the truth finally speaks, I pray your heart is strong enough to bear it.”
