1. Early Life and Education 

Shalimar Abbiusi was born to a Belgian-Italian family, growing up in a multilingual household where she mastered English, French, Italian, and Twi.  She excelled academically, earning a diploma in Biomedical Lab Technology.

2. Beauty Queen Turned TV Presenter 

At the age of 18, Shalimar represented Belgium in international beauty pageants, impressing audiences with her beauty and poise. Her success in pageantry paved the way for a television career, where she became a celebrated presenter on Belgian TV shows.

3. Modeling Career 

Shalimar’s transition from television to modelling was seamless. She quickly became a sought-after model, gracing numerous fashion shows and magazine covers. Her striking looks and charismatic presence made her a favourite in the fashion industry.

4. Move to Ghana and New Ventures 

In 2017, Shalimar moved to Ghana, initially claiming residency as a student at the Ghana Christian University College. She continued her work as a TV presenter and model, becoming a familiar face in the Ghanaian entertainment scene.

5. Political Involvement and Controversy

Shalimar’s most recent venture into politics has been both impactful and controversial.  She became the spokesperson for “The New Force,” a political movement in Ghana.

Her involvement drew significant attention, leading to her arrest by the Ghana Immigration Services in December 2023 for allegedly obtaining a student permit by false declaration. Despite the legal challenges, Shalimar remains a prominent figure in the movement, advocating for change and inclusivity.

6. Personal Life and Interests 

Shalimar is known to keep her personal life private. She is currently not married and has not publicly disclosed details about her relationships. Outside of her professional endeavours, she is passionate about community service and has been involved in various charitable activities.
