Ghanaian actor and social commentator, Oboy Siki, did not hold back as he expressed his strong disapproval of Okatakyie Afrifa’s recent criticisms of pastors who had met with NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama in an interview with RTV, veteran
The heated discussion revolved around Okatakyie’s claims that the prophecies shared by these religious leaders were fake, a statement that has stirred up controversy.

Oboy Siki, known for his no-nonsense approach, was visibly upset as he questioned the credibility of Okatakyie in comparison to the pastors at the meeting. “Okatakyie’s credibility does not compare to that of the pastors present at the meeting.
How can he label the prophecies made by those men of God as fake?” he asked, clearly baffled by the boldness of Okatakyie’s remarks.
For many Ghanaians, pastors hold significant influence in society, often acting as spiritual guides and moral compasses. This is why Okatakyie’s comments struck a nerve for people like Oboy Siki, who view these men of God as credible figures.
“And there was no sensible person there to stop him when he was making that meaningless speech?” Oboy Siki added, his frustration palpable as he questioned why Okatakyie was allowed to make such statements without being challenged.
But the conversation didn’t stop there. Oboy Siki went on to address another hot-button issue in Ghana: illegal mining, or “galamsey.” Okatakyie has been vocal about the fight against galamsey, even taking it upon himself to rally support to combat the illegal activity.
However, Oboy Siki was not impressed by these efforts, stating bluntly, “There is no sensible individual who would go to a galamsey site to fight.”

In his view, tackling the issue of galamsey is not something an individual can handle on their own. “The government is the only organization capable of combating illegal mining, not him,” Oboy Siki emphasized, arguing that it is the government’s responsibility to take meaningful action against this illegal activity that has ravaged Ghana’s natural resources.
Oboy Siki’s remarks raise an important point about the limits of personal crusades when it comes to large-scale national issues like galamsey. While Okatakyie’s passion for the cause is admirable, Oboy Siki believes the battle against illegal mining requires a coordinated effort from the government, not just individual activism.
