The ongoing controversy surrounding Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale, MC Portfolio, and a GH₵5,000 gift has caught the attention of many in the music industry.
Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale’s manager, recently spoke out about the issue, attempting to shed light on the situation and clarify misunderstandings.
According to Sammy Flex, the controversy stems from a recent video where Shatta Wale made it clear that he had no issue with anyone supporting his long-time rival, Stonebwoy.
In the video, Shatta Wale stated, “I don’t have a problem with you supporting Stonebwoy. Stonebwoy needs support, and if you are supporting him, that’s fine.

“I just want to appreciate you for the work you’ve done in the past, which I didn’t get a chance to acknowledge before… and this is the headache of some people.”
Sammy Flex explained that the gift of GH₵5,000 was meant as a gesture of appreciation for MC Portfolio’s contributions to the industry, not as an endorsement of any particular artist or rivalry.
He emphasized that Shatta Wale’s intention was solely to recognize the efforts of MC Portfolio, who has played a significant role in Ghana’s music scene, without taking sides in the ongoing tensions between Shatta and Stonebwoy.
