Medikal has set the tone for 2024 with a definitive declaration that has stirred conversations in the Ghanaian music space.

Speaking during an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, the rapper announced that next year will be a “selfish” year for his artistry, leaving no room for collaborations.

This announcement comes after a busy year filled with numerous features, which he believes has taken up much of his time and focus.

“Next year I no go do features. Ego be very selfish year for myself because this year I did a lot of features,” Medikal said, outlining his intent to prioritize his solo projects in 2025.

One particular collaboration, however, remains on his radar: a long-anticipated track with fellow rapper Eno Barony. Medikal revealed that this collaboration must happen before the year ends, as 2025 will mark the beginning of his self-imposed ban on features.

“The collaboration with Eno Barony has to happen this year. 2025 is officially off-limits for features,” he told Andy Dosty.

Fans of Ghanaian hip-hop are abuzz with excitement over the possibility of this pairing. Medikal and Eno Barony, two of the genre’s most influential figures, have been individually celebrated for their lyrical prowess and distinctive styles.

Yet, despite years of speculation and demand, the two have yet to team up on a track. The rapper’s latest comments suggest that this long-awaited collaboration might finally come to fruition, bringing a fresh dynamic to the local music scene.

Over the years, Medikal has carved a niche as a hitmaker who thrives on collaborations. Tracks like “Omo Ada” and “La Hustle” have solidified his place in the industry, often featuring other talents to create memorable hits.

Meanwhile, Eno Barony has shattered stereotypes in the male-dominated rap industry, proving herself as a force to be reckoned with through hard-hitting bars and unparalleled stage presence.
