Fifi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has delivered a bold and uncompromising message to party members as the 2025 political landscape takes shape.
Speaking during an interview with Joy News, Kwetey emphasized that governance under an NDC administration must prioritize the nation over personal or party interests, urging members to align with the values they’ve campaigned for.
“The NDC must appreciate that this reset agenda is not just about taking the NPP out,” Kwetey declared, his tone resolute. “Charity must begin at home, and you are going to hear more of that.”

Kwetey’s remarks come amid growing optimism about a potential John Dramani Mahama presidency, but his warning is clear: the hard work doesn’t end at the ballot box. The NDC must deliver on its promises of integrity and reform, or risk betraying the trust of Ghanaians.
“If the NDC guys think that we’ve worked hard and taken the NPP out and therefore it is time for people to do exactly what it is that we have campaigned against, then that is when they are going to realize that the General Secretary is a different General Secretary,” he cautioned, signalling his commitment to accountability.
Kwetey also stressed that his allegiance lies first with Ghana.
“For me, the country is far more important than the party, and we will make sure the NDC at any point will appreciate that,” he said firmly.
