Diamond Michelle Gbagonah, better known by her stage name Michy, announced her intention to run for office in Ghana.
She revealed her political aspirations and stated that she is studying law to better serve the people on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie.
Michy, who just dropped a new song, was asked how long she plans to stay in the industry, and she responded, “I do have goals; that is why I am going to school now. I have several goals in the future and it wouldn’t include doing this [music] for my 40s, my 50s. Hopefully we can go into politics.”
She said that the best employment is in politics rather than entertainment in Ghana, which is why she wants to enter the field. “That is literally the best job in Ghana at the moment.”
“It gives you a certain status in society that opens doors for you, that might not be open to anyone. So it’s for the status and the opportunity to help other people,” Michy elaborated.
The ex-girlfriend of Shatta Wale, the dancehall musician, has declared her intention to enter politics in the future and serve as a member of parliament. Michy said that she regularly feeds roughly eighty (80) kids in her community as a way to give back to the community.
