Ghanaian rapper and former close collaborator of Shatta Wale, Pope Skinny, has opened up about rekindling his friendship with the dancehall artist.
The two had a well-known falling out several years ago, which left fans speculating about the state of their relationship. However, in a candid conversation on Property FM with host Amansan Krakye, Pope Skinny revealed that their bond is now back on track and stronger than ever.

Reflecting on their past collaborations, Pope Skinny expressed no regrets about the music they created together, despite the ups and downs of their friendship. “I never regret recording all these great songs with Shatta Wale, and I never regret performing them,” he shared.

Their collaborations were a staple in Ghanaian music and brought high-energy performances that fans came to love. “I perform it, and he performs it,” he added, emphasizing that the legacy of their music remains intact.
Pope Skinny even acknowledged Shatta Wale in his latest single, Slow Down, giving a shout-out to his long-time friend. “Even if you listen to my new song titled Slow Down, I even gave Shatta Wale a shout-out in the song,” he explained.
For him, their bond represents the dynamic nature of friendship, where disagreements can arise but are eventually worked through. “Friends fight, and friends come back,” he said, reflecting a mature perspective on their past differences.
The rapper also shared that while they used to have more heated disagreements, their relationship has mellowed over time.

“Now we don’t quarrel like previously, and we are good friends because we’ve always been friends,” he remarked.
