In a fiery interview on Hitz FM, entertainment pundit Sally Mann aimed at Dancehall artist Shatta Wale, criticizing both his career trajectory and his recent comments about other artists.
According to Sally, Shatta Wale’s career is currently in a slump, likening his situation to being on a “pension bench.”

“Nothing is going on well for Shatta Wale. He is on a pension bench. So he has a lot of time on his hands,” Sally said, pointing out that the artist’s current status doesn’t suggest retirement but rather a lack of progress.
She continued by addressing his claim that he would “kill the careers” of fellow artists Blacko and Kweku Smoke but noted that, instead of harming their careers, Shatta Wale had failed to make any substantial impact on them.
“He said that he was going to kill the career of Blacko and also Kweku Smoke, but he has not been able to kill anybody’s career.
If he can kill someone’s career, then he should bring his career up first,” she asserted. Sally’s remarks seemed to echo growing frustrations within the industry, especially with how Shatta Wale has publicly criticized and engaged with other musicians.
She also compared Shatta Wale’s situation to that of Stonebwoy, who she says has seen his career flourish since distancing himself from the self-proclaimed “Dancehall King.”
“As Stonebwoy ignored Shatta, see the way we have pushed his career higher. The awards he has won. So he should continue to ignore him,” Sally continued.
The comment referenced the ongoing tension between the two artists, whose rivalry has been a notable feature in Ghanaian entertainment circles for several years.

Sally’s statements also touched on Shatta Wale’s self-declared status as “not an industry boy,” a claim he has made in the past about not aligning himself with the mainstream Ghanaian music industry.
“The reason why we have always pushed Stonebwoy is because Shatta has said he is not an industry boy. And if you’re not an industry, how do you want the industry to push you?”
Sally questioned, suggesting that Shatta Wale’s refusal to engage with the industry might be a key factor in his current lack of success.
