Stonebwoy has firmly asserted that he was the recipient of the Artiste of the Year award at the 2019 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, an event that ended in turmoil amid his ongoing rivalry with Shatta Wale.
The chaos during the event caused attendees to flee for safety, and as a result, the organizers were unable to announce the prestigious Artiste of the Year award, which was broadcast live on social media and television.
Despite this, Stonebwoy maintains that he is the rightful winner of the award and remains unyielding in his stance. He challenged anyone who disagreed with him to come forward and contest his claim.
Furthermore, he expressed that his confidence is bolstered by a private discussion he had with Kwame Sefa Kayi, the evening’s MC, and DJ Black, the official DJ and co-host of the event, both of whom confirmed to him that he had won the award.
Stonebwoy said; “I have boldly spoken about the three times, and I will continue to speak up until anyone doubts to speak otherwise.
“I have accepted that it is three times already, and I’m gladly rallying it around, giving a lot of credit and placing importance on the Ghana Music Awards. So, as for that one, I’m confident about it. I’m not dragging it with them.
“How deep can it get when Kwame Sefa Kayi, DJ Black, and myself are in the know? It is not about me proving it now. It’s about those who want to prove otherwise.
“If anyone thinks otherwise, they should also boldly come out and claim that they are the winners as well.”
