In a lively studio discussion on Hitz FM, Bulldog, the former manager of Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale, made bold remarks about Stonebwoy’s stature within the music industry, calling him “a whole institution.”

Bulldog, known for his outspoken nature and longtime association with the Ghanaian music scene, expressed admiration for Stonebwoy’s dedication, craft, and meticulous approach to music.

According to Bulldog, Stonebwoy’s consistency, deliberate artistry, and strategic approach are rare qualities that position him as a prominent figure in African music.

Reflecting on Stonebwoy’s reach and relevance, Bulldog highlighted the artist’s recent international recognition, underscoring his ability to make a lasting impact in Ghana and beyond.

Bulldog stated, “Stonebwoy is meticulous about his craft and knows exactly what he wants to put out.” His remarks came after DJ Slim noted seeing Stonebwoy’s work featured on a prestigious international platform that also hosts music from leading hip-hop artists worldwide, emphasizing Stonebwoy’s global appeal.

These statements carry even more weight given Bulldog’s past association with Shatta Wale, an artist with whom Stonebwoy has had a longstanding, occasionally contentious rivalry.

Bulldog and Shatta Wale shared years of collaboration, building Shatta’s brand through both music and media stunts that sparked controversy. Their collaborations often pushed boundaries, keeping Shatta Wale in the public eye and cementing his reputation as a bold, unfiltered artist who doesn’t shy away from confrontations.

However, Bulldog’s professional relationship with Shatta Wale ended on rocky terms, leading to public back-and-forths between the two.

Since parting ways with Shatta Wale, Bulldog has maintained a voice in the industry, openly commenting on various artists’ achievements. Despite his past disagreements with

Stonebwoy during his time with Shatta Wale, Bulldog now seems to view Stonebwoy’s artistic journey with newfound respect, especially in light of the singer’s consistent achievements.

The relationship between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, meanwhile, has remained a rollercoaster over the years.

Their rivalry hit a fever pitch at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards when a confrontation between the two artists led to an onstage altercation, resulting in both of them being banned temporarily from the awards scheme.

However, in recent years, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have taken steps toward reconciliation, occasionally sharing friendly moments publicly. Stonebwoy even invited Shatta Wale to his 2020 “Ashaiman to the World” concert, signalling an attempt to bridge the divide.
