Entertainment personality and manager of Shatta Wale, Sammy Flex, has extended heartfelt advice to MC Portfolio, urging him to remain steadfast in the face of recent controversies that have brought Ghana’s music industry into the spotlight.
His message comes as Portfolio finds himself entangled in accusations and misinterpretations following his interactions with top dancehall artists Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
“Be strong,” Sammy Flex encouraged during a recent address. “I keep telling you, the industry is like that. If you think everybody loves you, here you are. This is what many of the top people are going through.
People in the industry that they consider their friends, this is what they do to them. Very unfortunate. But to Portfolio, you’ll be fine.”
The advice comes amidst allegations that certain figures within the media, including DJ Slim and Sally Mann, have been working to strain Portfolio’s relationship with Stonebwoy while questioning his recent association with Shatta Wale.
The situation escalated after Shatta Wale gifted Portfolio GH₵5,000 as a token of appreciation, a gesture that should have been a moment of celebration but instead became the focus of criticism and speculation.
Sammy Flex expressed his dismay at the negativity surrounding Portfolio, describing how the unfolding events left him unsettled.
“When these issues came up, I was in Kumasi and didn’t get a chance to speak about it, but I was seeing videos and reports, and I was thinking, ‘Are people really this wicked? Can people be this cruel?’ But anyways, we leave it to God.”
