Chairman of the National Economic Dialogue, Dr. Ishmael Yamson, has made a passionate appeal to President John Dramani Mahama, urging him to take charge in resetting Ghana’s economic trajectory.
Speaking at the launch of the National Economic Dialogue under the theme “Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together,” Dr. Yamson expressed confidence in Mahama’s leadership, stating that only he could steer the nation away from economic mismanagement and corruption.
“Your Excellency, someone must reset the destiny of Ghana, and it can only be you,” he said, emphasizing the urgent need for transformation.
Dr. Yamson noted that throughout history, economic transformation in various parts of the world has been driven by the vision of a single individual.

He believes President Mahama has been endowed with the wisdom to lead Ghana towards sustainable and resilient growth.
“The Lord has blessed you with the wisdom to take on that task, the task to liberate Ghana from economic mismanagement and corruption to reset Ghana and put it on a path of sustainable and resilient growth including development and prosperity for all citizens of the country,” he stated.
Lamenting the current state of affairs, Dr. Yamson criticized the political landscape where opposition parties deliberately obstruct national progress.
“A party capture political system where the party in opposition chooses to sit on the fence and does everything, even including mislead the people, to undermine judging effort to develop the country,” he remarked.
