Popular Lagos-based pastor Kingsley Okonkwo has taken on married couples who argue that having intimacy while fasting is spiritually inappropriate.
The popular pastor gave his opinion in a video that was published online, saying that couples can have sex while fasting and that a spouse can choose not to have sex while fasting only with their partner’s consent.
He added that if a couple skips sex for an extended period of time, they become more susceptible to temptation.
He said that during a fast, a couple could refrain from having children for a maximum of seven days. He said that having sex while fasting won’t anger God because it is done for one’s own advantage rather than to please God.
