Nigerian musician Skales has raised concerns about the direction of contemporary preaching, particularly about the teachings of prosperity and healing in some Nigerian churches.
In a recent post on social media, the artist openly expressed his frustration, urging pastors to shift focus back to the core principles of Christianity as outlined in the Bible.
“I wish pastors, especially Nigerian pastors, would teach that all healings, prosperity, etc., will come from just loving God,” Skales shared. “Loving God is obeying His commandments—simple, it’s in the Bible—instead of all this money doubling sermons and film tricks.”

His comment, which resonated with many of his followers, is a critique of what he sees as the commercialization of faith.
Skales, who is known for his hits in the Nigerian music scene, has frequently spoken out on societal issues.
His latest remarks appear to target the growing trend of churches that promise wealth and miracles through financial contributions. These messages, he argues, detract from the foundational teachings of the Christian faith.
