For Shatta Wale, patience has always been a cornerstone of his success.
When he finally shared a stage with his idol, Vybz Kartel, at the Freedom Street concert in Jamaica, it wasn’t just another performance—it was the culmination of a two-decade-long dream.
This was a moment that had been carefully nurtured, delayed, and ultimately achieved through sheer determination and belief.
“I told myself the first time I would perform in Jamaica, it should be with Vybz Kartel,” Shatta Wale disclosed upon his return to Ghana.

“It took me 20 years to make that happen.” His voice carried the weight of years spent envisioning this very moment.
Yet, fate had thrown its curveballs. Shatta Wale recounted how Kartel’s incarceration in 2011 disrupted what could have been an earlier collaboration.
“Before he was arrested, I wanted to perform with him, and then he went to jail. I had to wait for him for thirteen years for this to become a reality.”
This milestone is more than a testament to Shatta Wale’s artistic talent—it is a reflection of his relentless spirit.
