Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale arrived in London with his girlfriend Maali and Shatta Movement team to a massive crowd of fans and royalty who ushered him in.
His arrival in the UK’s capital has been eagerly anticipated for quite some time. Fans had high hopes of seeing him during the 2021 edition of the event, but unfortunately, it didn’t materialise. Since then, there has been a strong desire among fans to finally witness the artiste’s performance on Saturday, October 7.
This will mark his first appearance at the awards show.
In an Instagram post, the CEO of Ghana Music Awards UK, Nii Ofori Tachie-Tetteh, popularly known as Alordia, said, “At last, the battle has ended…”
The 7th edition of the annual event, sponsored by Taabea, will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Royal Regency Palace in London.
Shatta Wale has been nominated in six categories of this year’s awards, including Artiste of the Year, Most Dominant Fan Base of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Song, and Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.
A-list artistes, dignitaries, and Ghana government officials are expected to attend.
