In the midst of a sexual harassment lawsuit she filed against banker Ernest Nimako, the Accra High Court has ordered Deborah Seyram Adablah to give the car to the Registrar of the Court, Law Court Complex.

On Tuesday, May 16, Justice Olivia Obeng Owusu of the Court (General Jurisdiction) ruled on a request made by Mr. Nimako and ordered the car at issue to be turned over to the Registrar of the High Court for safekeeping pending the outcome of the case.

In order to do this, the court also told Mr. Nimako, the defendant, to give the registrar every document related to the car.

The former National Service member sued the banker for allegedly failing to fulfil his role as “sugar daddy” when they were both employed by the same bank. She said that the “sugar daddy” had purchased the vehicle and had it registered in his name.

In January 2023, Ms. Adablah filed a lawsuit against Mr. Nimako, accusing him of breaking a contract in which he was supposed to provide her with a car, pay for her rent and utilities for three years, provide an allowance every month of GH&3,000, marry her after divorcing his wife, and provide a lump sum to help her start a business.

Mr. Nimako had his attorneys submit a request asking the court to stop Adablah from further damaging his reputation through her posts on TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms.

Adablah, through her attorneys, has dismissed the charges in an affidavit countering the claims made against her. She further alleges that the previously mentioned material was published before the case in court was started.

The court denied the motion and ordered the parties to stay away from sharing information that may affect the case until a final decision was made. Chief Financial Officer Ernest Kwasi Nimako was also ordered to cover all court expenses.

She further claimed that the defendant had damaged her reputation through acts of abuse, sexual harassment, mistreatment, and exploitation.
