According to Bloomberg, Selena Gomez has achieved billionaire status due to the success of her beauty brand.
The 32-year-old American singer and actress initially gained recognition as a child star on the Disney Channel before transitioning into music and launching her beauty line, Rare, in 2020.
Her various business endeavours have led to a net worth of approximately 1.3 billion dollars (£990 million), positioning her as one of the youngest self-made female billionaires, as reported by Bloomberg, which has recently included her in its billionaire index.
The publication attributes her wealth primarily to her beauty brand, which is estimated to be valued at over one billion dollars.
Rare Beauty has garnered significant popularity among influencers and makeup enthusiasts, particularly for its liquid blush and lip products.
In addition to her beauty brand, Gomez has also generated income through brand partnerships, acting roles, and music sales and tours.
After her early success on Disney Channel with shows like Barney & Friends and Wizards of Waverly Place, she has appeared in various television series and films, including the 2012 movie Spring Breakers and the Hotel Transylvania series.
Currently, she stars alongside renowned comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short in the critically acclaimed series Only Murders In The Building, for which she has received an Emmy nomination.
