Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has shared her personal experience with love and heartbreak, giving her followers an unfiltered glimpse into why her perspective on relationships has drastically changed.
“There was a time I gave my ex 50% of my monthly salary for 6 months,” she revealed. “And the werey was giving the money to another woman.”
She didn’t hold back, explaining how her generosity was misused: “He even funded her business from my sweat, and the lady married someone else months after he finished setting up her business.” Her story, both shocking and relatable, touched many who have faced betrayal in relationships.
Sarah describes herself as a “lover girl” who goes all in for the people she cares about. She admits, however, that this experience altered her approach to love and finances.
“Ever since them show me shege on top my kind heart, I no dey give man shishi!” she says with conviction, referencing her unwillingness to provide financial support to a partner after being taken advantage of.
Since then, Sarah has adopted a new mindset that she describes candidly. “With my full chest, I AM CURRENTLY A GOLD DIGGER,” she proclaimed unapologetically, sparking a mix of reactions online.
She clarified her stance, noting that her intentions are not to take advantage but to ensure mutual support and commitment. “I will support my man the best way I can, but my man must have supported me to a level that will warrant me to reciprocate his support in his own time of need.”
Sarah’s words have stirred conversations about modern dating expectations and the delicate balance of emotional and financial support in relationships.
Many people, especially women who have faced similar situations, resonated with her honest reflection on love, vulnerability, and self-worth.
