In a tragic turn of events, a man believed to be mentally challenged wreaked havoc in the community of Banda-Nkwanta, situated along the Bole-Bamboi highway in the Bole district of the Savannah region.

Identified simply as Daganaa, the suspect went on a rampage that resulted in the deaths of four individuals.

The distressing sequence of events unfolded when Daganaa, arriving at a nearby galamsey site to unload items, requested to use the washroom at a compound house around 3:00 am.

Upon being denied entry by the tenants, he became enraged and stabbed one of the occupants in the back before fleeing to another nearby compound.

There, he forcibly entered a room where two sleeping children, aged 10 and 12, lay, and reportedly stabbed them. Adding to the horror, he subjected their frail and immobile grandmother to his brutality.

Daganaa then proceeded to another household, where he attacked another person resting in the compound’s foyer. Confronted by horrified residents, the suspect barricaded himself in a room, issuing threats to anyone who dared to approach.

The escalating violence prompted residents to seek assistance from the Bole police command. Upon their arrival, Daganaa launched a violent assault on two police officers, prompting them to respond with gunfire, ultimately resulting in his death.
