Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an independent presidential candidate, has revealed that a worm had eaten part of his brain before dying inside his head during a deposition over a decade ago
This strange admission was made during his 2012 divorce proceedings, where he discussed experiencing “cognitive problems” that he initially thought were due to a brain tumour.
However, a second doctor informed him that the dark spot on his scans was actually a dead parasite. Kennedy, now 70, was about to undergo surgery at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina, but a doctor from New York-Presbyterian Hospital called him and suggested that the abnormality was caused by a worm that had entered his brain, eaten a portion of it, and then died.
Kennedy speculated that he may have contracted the parasite during a previous trip to South Asia. Medical experts believe it was likely a pork tapeworm larva, known to cause seizures, headaches, and dizziness as they die.
Additionally, Kennedy mentioned during the deposition that he had suffered from mercury poisoning due to consuming too many tuna fish sandwiches, which a doctor confirmed as the probable cause of his neurological problems.
“I have cognitive problems, clearly,” the son of the late attorney general and senator from New York said at the time. “I have short-term memory loss, and I have longer-term memory loss that affects me.”
Kennedy said he suffered from “severe brain fog” and had trouble retrieving words around the same time that his mercury levels were 10 times what the Environmental Protection Agency considers safe.
The vaccine-skeptic politician said he was certain his diet was causing the issue.
“I loved tuna fish sandwiches. I ate them all the time,” he said.
Kennedy revealed his health problems while going through a divorce with his second wife, Mary Richardson Kennedy. He claimed that his ability to earn money had decreased due to his medical issues.
The experienced environmental attorney mentioned that he had made various adjustments after experiencing two health scares, such as increasing his sleep, reducing travel, and cutting back on fish consumption.
Despite being in his seventies, he has highlighted his relatively younger age as a point in favor of his candidacy against the older former President Donald Trump, 77, and current President Biden, 81.
