As a result of her nomination for Best Original Song for “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the singer surprised fans by showing up at the awards presentation with her lover A$AP Rocky dressed up in a suit with her. On Twitter, many couldn’t help but comment on the grand dame’s spectacular Schiaparelli-designed outfit.

A black dress with a velvet waistband and bra cups completed the look. Inspired by her extravagant 2021 Met Gala look, the gown had a lengthy train and a large velvet shawl that tied in a knot at the back. Her footwear, a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti sandals with thin black straps, was minimal and chic.

Rihanna sported a Princess Leia–inspired hairstyle, with two twisted buns and a single front curl that drew attention to her dangling diamond earrings and choker. She added a dash of drama to her ensemble with a pair of black velvet gloves and a patent leather small purse embellished with diamond studs.
