Netizens have weighed in on a message shared by actress Regina Daniels why celebrating her stepson Amir Nwoko’s 18th birthday.
Just days after her own birthday, Regina took to Instagram on Sunday, October 14, to share joyous photos and videos with Amir.
In her message, she expressed pride in the young man he had become, describing him as “handsome, intelligent, compassionate, and humble.”
“Happy 18th birthday to my adorable big boy,” she wrote. “Watching you grow into a handsome, intelligent, compassionate and humble young man gladdens my heart. I pray that God continues to protect and watch over you in Jesus’ name. Like I always say, all you have to do is make the family proud. Love you, son.”
While many fans praised Regina for her warmth and the evident affection she showed toward her stepson, the post did not escape scrutiny.

Some users took issue with her choice of words, particularly the phrase “watching you grow,” given that Regina is only 25, just seven years older than Amir.
Critics questioned how someone so close in age could speak about witnessing his growth, with one user commenting, “You’re almost the same age—how could you have watched him grow?”
Regina, who married businessman Ned Nwoko in 2019, has faced public interest in her family dynamics ever since. The age gap between Regina and her husband, who is 62, has been a source of constant media fascination.
Despite this, Regina has often been lauded for her maturity and the grace with which she handles her role as a wife and stepmother.
Amir is one of Ned’s children from a previous relationship, and Regina’s bond with him, despite their close ages, reflects her commitment to nurturing their blended family.
