The plight of legendary Hiplife musician Okomfour Kwadee has sparked widespread debate, with many Ghanaians blaming the music industry for not doing enough to support him.
But Reggie Rockstone, often regarded as the Grandpapa of Hiplife, has a different perspective—one that challenges the public’s role in the matter.
“I’ve seen some talk on Twitter and, you know, a little bit over here and there. And it feels like the public seems to be pointing their finger at the music industry, saying that the industry has to do something for him and all that.
“Everybody seems to be pointing the finger. And I just started to get irritated by this,” he shared in a passionate Instagram post.

His frustration stems from what he sees as misplaced blame. “The public needs somebody to point a finger at. And of course, yeah, he is a comrade musically. I get it. But you, the public, the ones pointing the fingers—what are you doing besides pointing the finger and talking?”
Kwadee, known for his storytelling prowess in Ghanaian music, has battled personal and health challenges for years, leaving many fans concerned about his well-being.
“But Rockstone insists that the responsibility to help doesn’t lie with just the industry or organizations like MUSIGA. “Prayers—that’s a good start. Money, if you’ve got it. Love from the heart—anything.”
