Reggie Rockstone Alleges Setup Behind Harsh Review of His Restaurant

Reggie Rockstone has broken his silence about a recent scathing review of his RockzWaakye Restaurant, claiming that the negative feedback was not a genuine complaint, but rather a calculated effort by a competitor to tarnish his business.

In a candid interview, Rockstone recounted his initial reaction to the review. “I took it in good faith,” he said, acknowledging that while the critique might have been based on the reviewer’s personal experience, he had some reservations.

The review, he noted, focused heavily on one of his restaurant’s signature ingredients: coconut oil. “That happens to be our signature ingredient. So, I addressed it.”

Despite his professional approach to handling criticism, Rockstone explained that the tone of the review struck him as particularly harsh. “When you talk trash about somebody’s business, it affects their revenue,” he remarked. “Anyway, I left that. Nowhere in my mind did I think that it could be a setup.”

However, the situation took a surprising turn when an old friend reached out to Rockstone with a tip that changed his perspective. “He said, ‘You see that review, all that that’s going on? It’s a setup,’” Rockstone shared.

According to his friend, the review was orchestrated by the owner of a competing waakye joint. The competitor, Rockstone was told, had paid someone to write the negative review and damage his restaurant’s reputation.

With this new information in hand, Rockstone’s suspicions grew stronger. “He wouldn’t mention the place, but there is another Waakye joint, and the owner paid for somebody to badmouth us,” he continued, now convinced that the negative review was part of a larger scheme.

As a “people’s person,” Rockstone explained that he’s always open to feedback about his food. “Usually, when somebody has any reservations about my food, they either come in my DM or they try to tell me so I can fix it,” he said.

But this particular review, he admitted, felt different. “This person was like, ‘The food is trash. This is the worst food I ever had,’” he said, a statement that stood out to him as especially severe.

The harsh tone and the nature of the review prompted Rockstone to delve deeper into the situation, especially after hearing from his friend.

“And that’s what drew my attention to the sister. Now I truly believe what this dude is telling me. It’s terrible,” he said, revealing how the incident had shifted his perspective.
