Usher, Ne-Yo, and record executive Jimmy Iovine have been roped into the assault case involving Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ and his then girlfriend Cassie as highlighted in a lawsuit filed by Dawn Richard.
The lawsuit outlines serious allegations of verbal, physical, and sexual abuse against the prominent rapper and entrepreneur.
In the comprehensive 55-page document, Richard recounts her observations of Cassie being mistreated by the founder of Bad Boy Records.
Despite attempts by Richard and her Diddy-Dirty Money groupmate Kalenna Harper to intervene, they faced threats for their efforts, while the aforementioned celebrities reportedly chose to remain passive witnesses to the abuse.
On page 15 of the lawsuit, Richard notes Puff’s agreement with Jimmy Iovine of Interscope Records, aimed at leveraging Interscope’s extensive resources to boost the promotion and sales of Bad Boy releases, including the new album from Diddy-Dirty Money.
However, before the signing of this deal, Richard alleges that Iovine witnessed Diddy threatening and physically assaulting Cassie during a high-profile dinner in Los Angeles, with Usher and Ne-Yo also present and observing Diddy’s aggressive conduct that night.
“In front of dinner guests, Mr. Combs hissed at Ms. Ventura in a screaming whisper and forcefully punched her in the stomach causing her to double over in visible pain, crying,” the lawsuit reads. “Ms Clark escorted Ms.
“Ventura out of the restaurant and Mr. Combs remained and continued socializing with dinner guests.
“At this point, Interscope Records had actual knowledge that Mr. Combs was dangerous around females and that Combs was willing to brazenly batter a female in public.”
