Backstage at the Grammys, Quavo and Offset engaged in a violent altercation as a result of their lingering animosity following the loss of Takeoff.
Before Quavo performed “Without You” as a tribute to Takeoff during the “In Memoriam” section of the program, according to sources at the event, he and Offset engaged in a physical altercation and had to be separated.
Offset was reportedly asked to take part in the tribute by the Grammys, but Quavo told him he couldn’t. Reports indicate that Quavo prohibited Offset from joining him onstage, culminating in the scuffle.
TMZ claims Offset sources say that Quavo initiated the conflict.
At the time of Takeoff’s murder, Quavo and Takeoff were incredibly close. Offset was still hanging out with Takeoff individually, but the three were not hanging out together. “Without You” by Quavo was written exclusively for Takeoff.
Setoff and his companion totally dominated the red carpet before everything else. Cardi B walked in in a deep blue Gaurav Gupta dress with a daring stomach cut-out and an architectural hood that soared above her head, while Offset wore a white suit with black lapels, side by side.
