Ghanaian actor and outspoken political commentator Prince David Osei has called out the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he perceives as their inaction and silence following the party’s electoral loss.
In a passionate post on X (formerly Twitter), Osei criticized the NPP’s leadership for failing to protect its members and supporters, who he alleges are facing threats and violent attacks from National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters.
“Since when did we become cowards?” Osei wrote, questioning the party’s resolve. He lamented the attacks on NPP members and properties, expressing dismay at the silence of the leadership.
“We all want peace to prevail so we can coexist in Ghana, but must you watch and keep quiet while they attack your own people? Beat, vilify, and destroy properties belonging to NPP?” he asked.
The actor disclosed that he and some of his colleagues have endured death threats, cyberbullying, verbal abuse, and even physical assaults since the elections.

What seems to have frustrated him further is the lack of response from authorities. Osei revealed that he reached out directly to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to report these issues but was met with silence.
“I even sent a personal message to the IGP, but there was no response. Ghana, is this how you want us to live together?” he added.
Osei contrasted this current environment with the relative freedom enjoyed by NDC members after their past electoral losses.
He argued that even when some NDC members made inflammatory statements against key figures like the Asantehene and former presidents, they were not subjected to the same level of harassment.
“No statesman or clergy came out to condemn it,” he observed, suggesting a disparity in how political transitions are handled in Ghana.
