President John Dramani Mahama has made significant changes to Ghana’s national security leadership, appointing experienced individuals to key positions.
These appointments aim to strengthen the nation’s security framework and enhance operational efficiency.
Prosper Douglas Bani, a former Chief of Staff and Minister for the Interior, has been named National Security Advisor. With his extensive experience in public service, Mr. Bani is expected to provide strategic counsel on national security matters.
DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak has been appointed National Security Coordinator, tasked with ensuring seamless collaboration across all security initiatives.

“I am ready to work with all stakeholders to keep Ghana safe,” he stated following his appointment.
Retired COP Nathan Kofi Boakye will serve as the Director of Operations at the Presidency, overseeing the effectiveness of security operations.
Charles Kipo takes on the role of Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB). His expertise in intelligence will be critical in identifying and addressing emerging security threats.
Speaking on the appointments, acting presidential spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu said, “These individuals bring the experience and dedication needed to ensure the safety and stability of the nation.”
