Mahama Nominates Regional Ministers

President John Dramani Mahama has taken a significant step in shaping his administration by submitting the names of ten individuals to Parliament for approval as Regional Ministers.

A statement released on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, highlighted the President’s commitment to assembling a competent team to oversee the administration of Ghana’s regions.

The list, which was presented through the Speaker of Parliament, features nominees from diverse backgrounds with experience in public service and governance.

The nominees include:

  1. Ali Adolf John for the Northern Region
  2. John Kwadwo Gyapong for the Oti Region
  3. James Gunu for the Volta Region
  4. Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey for the Eastern Region
  5. Ibrahim Tia for the North-East Region
  6. Dr. Frank Amoakohene for the Ashanti Region
  7. Akamugri Donatus Atanga for the Upper East Region
  8. Charity Gardiner for the Ahafo Region
  9. Salisu Be-Awuribe for the Savannah Region
  10. Linda Ocloo, MP for the Greater Accra Region
