President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mr. Abraham Amaliba as the Acting Director-General of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA).
This appointment, made in accordance with Article 195(1) of Ghana’s Constitution and Section 13(2) of the National Road Safety Authority Act, 2019 (Act 993), takes effect from January 23, 2025.
A letter signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, stated:
“I write to formally inform you that the President of the Republic of Ghana, in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 13(2) of the National Road Safety Authority Act, 2019 (Act 993), has appointed you as the Acting Director-General of the National Road Safety Authority.”

The letter also highlighted that this appointment is pending the receipt of constitutionally required advice from the governing board of the Authority, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
President Mahama expressed his confidence in Mr. Amaliba through his secretary, adding, “Please accept the President’s best wishes.”
Mr. Amaliba has been given a 14-day window to officially confirm his acceptance of the appointment.
This announcement has already been copied to key stakeholders, including the Vice President, Chief of Staff, Minister for Transport, and other relevant authorities.
