In a powerful message that resonates with many Ghanaians, media personality Ohemaa Woyeje has called on the people of Ghana to rise above political manipulation and take a stand for the truth.

In a recent video shared by blogger Zionfelix, Woyeje shared her thoughts on the state of politics in the country, urging citizens to use their brains to distinguish right from wrong, even when faced with powerful forces trying to deceive them.

“Politicians don’t want you to wake up and know the truth. Because they want to rely on the dumbest people who they can easily deceive,” she said, emphasizing that everyone has the ability to think critically and recognize deceit.

According to her, the current political landscape is designed to manipulate people into believing falsehoods, with politicians buying the consciences of the public to further their agenda.

“God gave every human the brain to distinguish between right and wrong,” she added, urging Ghanaians to be bold and use their minds to see through the lies they are being fed.

Woyeje’s message doesn’t stop with politics. She also spoke passionately about the importance of preserving the history of Ghana and Africa. Reflecting on the loss of key figures during the coronavirus pandemic, Woyeje expressed concern about the erasure of historical knowledge.

“When it comes to our history in Ghana and Africa as a whole, it is not on the internet. We listened to our history from our grandparents,” she explained, highlighting the role that oral tradition plays in keeping the rich history of the country alive.

She further pointed out that many of the elders, the very people who could preserve and pass on this knowledge, were among the most vulnerable during the pandemic.

“When the coronavirus came into the country, it was people over 60 who died. People who could protect our history and heritage were the ones dying,” she said solemnly, calling attention to the devastating loss of cultural wisdom.
