The feud between Deloris Frimpong Manso, known as Delay, and Madam Akua Donkor, flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) is in the spotlight again.
The tension has simmered for nearly a decade, rooted in a contentious interview that still echoes today. “I don’t support the curses against her either,” asserted Ohemaa Woyeje told Fiifi Praat on Kingdom FM when her opinion was sought on the matter.
She was referring to the powerful curses invoked by Akua Donkor on Delay, which have captivated public attention. The animosity began years ago when Delay, during her show, questioned Akua Donkor’s mental stability, referring to her as “mad.”
This remark deeply offended Akua Donkor, who felt demeaned and disrespected, especially considering her age and political status. The incident left Akua Donkor visibly upset, leading her to invoke curses on Delay.
“The woman was not happy about it. She didn’t take it lightly,” Ohemaa recounted, highlighting the lack of respect shown during the interview. In response, Akua Donkor’s curses were severe. She declared that Delay would never find a good man to marry and would remain childless.
Despite the passage of time, Akua Donkor has reiterated her stance, stating firmly, “I will never reverse my curses on Delay.”
Ohemaa Woyeje emphasized the importance of treating guests with dignity, especially those of significant stature. “Delay can try to be human, especially when this woman is old enough to be her mother,” she remarked, expressing disapproval of Delay’s conduct during the interview.
However, Ohemaa was also clear in her stance against curses as a means of response, urging for more considerate and humane interactions.
