A police officer from the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters was fatally shot by unidentified attackers in the Bobiri Forest Reserve near Ejisu, according to a report first shared MyNewsGh.com.
Sergeant Amoah Moses was recognized by officers from the Ejisu District Police headquarters, led by DSP Mr. Patrick Okai Kodjoe, the District Commander, along with ASP Mrs. Hannah Amoafo and the District Crime Officer, in collaboration with the Ashanti Regional Crime Scene Management Team, led by DSP Mr. Francis Nimoh.
MyNewsGh.com mentioned that the incident was reported following a complaint by Caleb Adu Agyemang, the Assemblyman of Kubease Electoral Area, who discovered the lifeless body of a man in his 30s on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Forest Reserve.
The deceased, dressed in a green long-sleeve shirt, khaki trousers, and black boots, was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound on his right leg below the knee.
Police authorities have reported the discovery of a single-barrel gun and a machete near the deceased individual.
Despite being quickly taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, a medical professional declared him dead upon arrival.
His body has been transferred to the hospital’s morgue for further examination and preservation.
Police investigators indicate that efforts are underway to unravel the mystery behind the death of the young policeman.
