Nollywood legend Pete Edochie has shared his thoughts on relationships and marriage in a heartfelt interview, addressing concerns about the changing dynamics of modern unions.
The celebrated actor lamented the diminishing longevity of marriages, pointing out that it’s now rare to see unions last more than a decade.
“It’s troubling to see marriages crumble so quickly these days,” he said, adding that lasting love is often overshadowed by shallow connections driven by fleeting desires.
Touching on polygamy, Pete openly questioned its relevance, asserting: “What can you gain from another wife that you can’t find in the one you already have?
“The thrill of intimacy doesn’t come from the woman—it originates from the man himself. There’s no real justification for seeking multiple partners.”
These remarks seem especially poignant given the controversy surrounding his son Yul Edochie’s decision to take a second wife, a move that stirred widespread debate.
While Pete did not explicitly criticize his son, his perspective suggests a preference for commitment and stability within marriage.
