Rita Dominic has responded fiercely to her detractors regarding her participation in the latest season of Lekki Wives reality show, asserting that the character she portrays does not meet her usual standards.

In a scene from the show, Dominic is depicted as a ‘local woman’ with questionable makeup application skills, resulting in a multi-coloured face, adding an aura to entertainment news on the internet today.

Some online users protested, believing that their role model should not have accepted a role that they deemed beneath her. One particular comment that stirred controversy read as follows;

“There are certain projects your brand should outgrow, because why is Rita Dominic in lekki wives or whatever it is called? Common.”

Upon encountering the unanimous decision, Rita Dominic expressed that individuals lacking artistic integrity often make such comments.

She proceeded to encourage fellow Nollywood actors to not let such remarks hinder their creative pursuits.

Dominic said; “Dear Actors, only people who have no single drop of artistic integrity speak like this. If you listen to them you will soon begin to believe you are more important than the industry that birth you.

“You are an actor, so make sure to find a way or platform to release the creative energy in you. Continue to hone your skills regardless of empty comments like this cos knowledge is never ending – yours truly, Rita.”
